Hiatus

Hi again!  I didn’t even realize my last post was in September 2011…yikes!

On the off-chance that other people read this blog (besides my friends), I want to explain my hiatus.

It’s not that I haven’t been blogging at all, I just haven’t been blogging about purses, make-up or fashion.  What have I been blogging about?  Pregnancy…my pregnancy to be exact.  I  started a blog so my family and friends who live far away can keep up with all that’s been going on with my pregnancy.

I am due in March with our first baby. We choose not to find out the sex and our busy trying to finalize all the last-minute things that need to be checked off the never-ending task list

Spring is right around the corner and there is no better time to get back into talking about fashion!  Spring Fashion shows, colors, trends and plenty of new purses.  I also wanted to change-up the look of the blog, I did my Spring cleaning early this year, HA!

FNO 2011 | Fashion’s Night Out

For all of the fashionistas, please mark your calendars for September 8th!  It’s the third annual Fashion’s Night Out!

Fashion’s Night Out is everywhere (really, it’s global!) but if by some chance, it’s not in your area then you can participate on-line.  It’s one of the biggest celebrations of Fashion where you can mingle with others and pick up special designs.  Here are some of the cities that are participating: NYC, Chicago, Milan, LA, Malibu, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Toronto, Denver, DC, Charlotte, and London to name a few.

I hope you have your checkbook ready at 6pm sharp when most festivities start.

My New Make-up Must Have

I recently purchased a great make-up find!  I totally love this stuff.  The Sugar Lip Collection is ah-mazing! I bought the Sugar Lip Polish and the  Sugar Plum Tinted Lip 15 SP.

The Lip Polish is used to exfoliate your lips and leaves your lips soft. It may sound odd to exfoliate your lips at first but the results are great.   It’s brown sugar crystals, jojoba seed,  and grapeseed oils which help nourish your lips.  You leave the Lip Polish on for 5 minutes then wipe off with a warm towel.  I only use it a few times a week and I can see a difference.

The Sugar Plum Tinted Lip SPF 15 is to be used after the Lip Polish.   It helps to nourish and protect your lips.  It’s the softest and smoothest lip balm I have ever used.  The lip balm also contains antioxidant-rich vitamins to help beat wrinkly lips.  I was a little wary of the Plum tint because it looks very dark but it you can control how light or dark you want the plum by how much you put on your lips.

Change is good

There will always be change, especially when it comes to fashion.  There are always new designers, lines, brands, styles and trends to try, which leads me to today’s post, a new-ish brand (Fall 2010)!

COACH has a new luxury brand!  The Reed Krakoff Collection is designed by COACH’s Creative Director, Reed.  It’s a full line for women with handbags, shoes, jewelry and clothes.  The line has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Avenue, and Allure magazine; to name a few

As a luxury brand, this can be a budget buster but it’s not as much of a budget buster as other designer brands.  The problem is, these purses are

AH-MAZING and you will want more than one!

 

This satchel is great, it comes in many different colors and materials to suit every woman.    I love buckled belt front and the outside pocket is versatile coming in leather, suede, haircalf, etc.

This bag is perfect if you want a larger handbag without looking like the bag is bigger than you.   There are three different colors, Chalk, Mocha and Grey.  It’s called the Gym bag and I don’t want to see anyone  putting sweaty clothes or shoes in this bag!

The RK Shopper is definitely the most budget friendly bag I’ve seen while drooling over the website.   It comes in Black, Cobalt, or Grey.

I must admit, I was over COACH; I have a few and the quality is great but the style was pretty much the same.  COACH became a “safe” brand to me so I am very pleased that they have the Reed Krakoff Collection to get them back on my map!

Good Karma

Rachel Roy is a brilliant and beautiful designer!  She is also heavily involved in charities.  Rachel started her design career at Rocawear and became the Creative Director.  Roy launched her own line in 2005, Rachel Roy New York.  I have always been a fan of Roy’s work.  You will see her in an upcoming Closet Crush post in the near future, I think she has great style
