Bentley Fashion

fs-bentley02

Fashion and cars do mix!  Bentley Motors launched a handbag line today in California.  There are two separate styles in the collection and the colors are based off of Bentley paint finishes (Fireglow Red, Linen, Neptune Blue, etc).   Bentley Motors will sell their handbags through trunk shows and events in various countries.

I must admit these bags are absolutely GORGEOUS but would you expect anything less from Bentley?  Bentley teamed up with designer Vincent du Sartel who previously designed at Louis Vuitton and Loewe and they didn’t disappoint!

The Barnato bag was based off of a loyal Bentley customer, late English aviatrix Diana Barnato-Walker, acclaimed pilot who was the first British woman to break the sound barrier. Price tag on this handbag is $7000.

The Continental is named  after the Bentley automobile with the same name.  This handbag costs $5500.

Fashion that gives back

I enjoy highlighting when fashion has a purpose.  It never gets old when designers take the time to create something that will benefit a great cause, same for large retailers.  Fashion isn’t always about the skinny models, overpriced pieces, or the glitz and glam most books and movies are made of. Social causes and fashion make a great mix in my book.

This isn’t Rachel Roy’s first time at giving back; she makes an effort to give back in several different avenues on the regular basis.  She teamed up with Lauren Bush Lauren, Founder and CEO of FEED  to create a FEED India bag that when purchased will feed 100 school meals to children in India. These bags  were launched in May of this year.

This limited edition tote bag comes in two different colors,  white or orange and costs $78.  This late in the season, you can only find orange, white is sold out.

What I truly like about FEED is that they specify on every product bought how much you are helping instead of just saying a percentage of the proceeds.  To learn more about the project and to purchase bags, accessories or apparel;  go to http://www.feedprojects.com.  All bags are sold out on Rachel Roy’s site but there are plenty of other items to catch your eye at http://www.rachelroy.com.

Aaahhhh, Fall

Fall is officially here and I am definitely excited about it!  Fall to me is about boots, purses, accessories, pumpkin pie,  pumpkin chai and family time. My first fall purchase was a Michael Kors Colgate bag!

This bag is also available in chocolate and  dark green.  This bag is SUEDE (love), has no interior pockets, and  it’s a real grab-n-go bag and I love it!  It also comes in a smaller size but I figured go big or go home applied in this case 🙂

Boots that are going to be popular this season are riding boots and booties. They will both be all the rage this fall.  The selection of riding boots and booties makes it difficult to decide on a purchase.  Here are a few that I really like.  There are a pair of booties by Vera Wang that are a complete budget buster but they are so pretty, I had to add them to the list!

Kenneth Cole $89

Steve Madden $160

Vera Wang $350

Jessica Simpson $129

Happy Shopping!

Oh yeah…word has it that black is THE color for fall!

Change is good

There will always be change, especially when it comes to fashion.  There are always new designers, lines, brands, styles and trends to try, which leads me to today’s post, a new-ish brand (Fall 2010)!

COACH has a new luxury brand!  The Reed Krakoff Collection is designed by COACH’s Creative Director, Reed.  It’s a full line for women with handbags, shoes, jewelry and clothes.  The line has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Avenue, and Allure magazine; to name a few 🙂

First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore a piece from the Reed Krakoff Collection to the Pritzker Architecture Prize Event.

As a luxury brand, this can be a budget buster but it’s not as much of a budget buster as other designer brands.  The problem is, these purses are
AH-MAZING and you will want more than one!

This satchel is great, it comes in many different colors and materials to suit every woman.    I love buckled belt front and the outside pocket is versatile coming in leather, suede, haircalf, etc.

Boxer $1350

Boxer $1350

This bag is perfect if you want a larger handbag without looking like the bag is bigger than you.   There are three different colors, Chalk, Mocha and Grey.  It’s called the Gym bag and I don’t want to see anyone  putting sweaty clothes or shoes in this bag!

Gym Bag $890

The RK Shopper is definitely the most budget friendly bag I’ve seen while drooling over the website.   It comes in Black, Cobalt, or Grey.

RK_Shopper $690

I must admit, I was over COACH; I have a few and the quality is great but the style was pretty much the same.  COACH became a “safe” brand to me so I am very pleased that they have the Reed Krakoff Collection to get them back on my map!

Need an “It” Bag?

It’s been a while since I have posted anything.  I have had a serious lack of motivation lately, life has been busy.  Hopefully things will slow down a bit and I get back to focusing on my blog.

For those looking for a summer “it” bag, Kate Spade thinks she has it with her Bixby Collection.  The Bixby Collection has wood accents and mod cloth lining.  Wood accents are what will be popular this summer.  Several purse lines are using wood accents for the summer.

Here’s a glimpse in to Spade’s Bixby Collection, enjoy!

This collection was inspired by Big Sur’s Bixby Creek Bridge which is located on the California Coastline.

You have 2 options for the Bixby collection: the clutch or the bag.  I am crushing hard on the clutch ♥.

The Bixby Clutch comes in 3 colors, black, cream and aqua.  The clutch has a wood frame, bauble closure and interior zipped pocket. This clutch will run you $325. If you are like me and think the lining of your purse is just as important as the purse; you’ll be happy to know that the lining is custom woven!

Aqua Bixby Clutch

The Bixby bag is just like the clutch with the wooden frame, bauble closure and interior zipped pocket.  The bag also comes with double slide pockets on the interior.  The bag is available in pollen, fallow, aqua, and black.  This bag costs $495.

Miu Miu

No, I am not speaking a new language. HA HA HA!

I’m not sure how many people are familiar with this brand from the Prada fashion house that started in 1993.  Miu Miu is considered the secondary line from Prada.  I came across this brand a few years ago thanks to Zoe Saldana, Jessica Alba and Victoria Beckham.  I must admit that I am usually looking at the purse before I look at the clothes they are being photographed in and that’s how I stumbled upon Miu Miu.

Miuccia Prada designs/heads the line and her nickname is Miu Miu and that’s where the name of this brand originated.  The Miu Miu line is famous not only because it has something to do with Prada but because of their style, colors and patterns.

Here are a few Miu Miu bags, as you can see, they have a range of styles.

Braided Shopper w/ Crystal $1175

Perforated Leather Tote $1305

Satchel Bow Bag $1540

Matelasse Linen Bag $1435

Kenny Cool aka Kenneth Cole

Hello!

Here are some of the latest bags from Kenneth Cole.  Kenny Cool has some reasonable options purses in comparison to some other designers, so Kenneth Cole gets a + in my book!  I hope you enjoy these selections.

The Silver Edition Tote is a very roomy tote with a split interior and a middle pocket that’s zippered.  There’s a removable strap for versatility. The tote comes in one color,  Cactus Flower.  It’s a snake-skin leather exterior and this tote is $398 (one of their most expensive purses).

The hobo style seems to still be pretty popular and I really like Kenneth Cole’s version due to the deep v-cut.  This comes in 2 colors, Stream, Tropical Wood and Red.  The purse has silver hardware and an interior pockets.
